Bay Audiology just got a little greener...
At Bay Audiology, we believe that we should leave as small a footprint on the environment as possible.
Our company has a stated aim to recycle, reuse and reduce our day-to-day materials and resources, including hearing aid batteries. These batteries contain chemicals and heavy metals which can be environmentally hazardous, so it is important to dispose of them appropriately.
We are therefore delighted to announce the first New Zealand-wide hearing aid battery recycling programme.
HOW DOES THE BAY AUDIOLOGY BATTERY RECYCLING PROGRAMME WORK?
Bay Audiology has designed a unique, fully recyclable cardboard box sourced from 100% sustainable forestry.
The recycling box holds approximately 70 - 80 hearing aids batteries, and is provided FREE of charge to all hearing aid wearers. You do not have to be a Bay Audiology client to take part in the recycling programme.
Simply fill the box with your old hearing aid batteries, and post your completely full hearing aid battery recycling box to:
PO Box 100260
In return we will give you 2 FREE packets of batteries as a thank you from Bay Audiology for taking the time and effort to recycle your old hearing aid batteries.
SO HOW DO I START?
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF YOU JOINING THIS PROGRAMME?
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE PROGRAMME?
Nothing! There is no cost to join the hearing aid battery recycling programme.
HOW CAN I RETURN THE FULL BOX OF USED HEARING AID BATTERIES?
We can send you a freepost envelope to return your old hearing aid batteries by post. Simply email us on email@example.com or call 0800 700 851 to request this service.
We are genuinely committed to ensuring that every used hearing aid battery gets recycled and does not end up in one of our lakes or streams. Please help us to help the environment – TELL AS MANY HEARING AID WEARERS AS YOU CAN!
Thank you for your support
Note: Sorry, we cannot accept other types of batteries or rechargeable batteries at this time. To recycle these, please contact INTERWASTE on 0800 102 131

Having filled a re-cycling box I was advised by Bay Audio Porirua that the "Two free battery cards" offer no longer existed. So my full box was emptied into the big jar??? Then after ordering ten cards on-line I was annoyed to find out that the offer was still there. Can you pass on to the shops not to mis-inform customers.

Hope other Battery Producers will follow your example of disposing used batteries; this will reduce the contamination of "General Refuse" Why not advertise this also at all battery sales.

The wee box is a cute way to save the spent batteries from the rubbish bin. I love the idea and I'm pleased I ordered the box online with my batteries.

This is great, they post you a little box and include a postage paid envelope, then when the box is full of used batteries you post it back and they send you 12 batteries for free! !!!

Well done. I've been collecting my batteries in a jar for many not knowing what to do with them. Now I have a solution. Thanks.
